I just picked up a Challenger VI keg in a swap. The lid is little...odd.

The pressure relief does not have a release, just three holes.

Anybody dealt with these? Can I replace the pressure relief with a release?

Is it pin lock or ball lock? That's a standard pin lock lid by the sounds of it.

It may have ball lock posts, and could be a pin lock keg that was converted to ball lock posts. You can push down on the gas side poppet to relieve pressure - just use a screwdriver or some other hard object.

One other thing is how are the posts oriented? I've noticed most ball locks, the posts are 180 degrees apart, and the pin locks are about 90 degrees apart.

It's a ball lock keg, but I think it has a pin lock lid.

The guy I got it from had a couple of pin lock kegs, I bet he got the lids mixed up.

Anybody want to swap a pin lock lid for a ball lock?
