So far a decent day for NE. Pats win, Buffalo loses. Would have liked to see Oakland and Denver win - and Chicago (just 'cuz I can't stand Rivers) but one takes what one can get.

I'm not sure the Patriots have found an offense that'll be competitive with the top echelon teams but their defense is so crazy good it might be enough. Hopefully when they get some bodies off IR, etc, that'll help square things away but I'd love it if they could create some depth before the trade deadline...

Agreed.

[edit - Lost my mind for a minute]

Go KC! ;)

In other news: JJ Watt is likely done. For good. He doesn't need to try for season-ending IR for the fourth time in five years...

So opening odds for Pats at Ravens favor the former by 4.
iirc that's the first time this year the Pats have been favored by less than double-digits, so I gather LV thinks they're in for a serious test.
Frankly unless "we" get our O-line squared away LV is probably right...

They were a 7 point favorite against the Bills.

Just stop with the gambling talk. You continue to embarrass yourself pretending that you know what any of it means...

Actually, you're simply abusing someone who has repeatedly stated he doesn't understand how gambling works.
If that's fun for you, fine. Doesn't bother me a whit.

Or, you might explain with your mighty gambling brain what's going on...

Cheers!

Yes, the Pats won and are the better team, but two things:

1. Browns did more offensively against them than any team all season.

2. Pats never looked convincing against the running game.

Hey man, I was rooting for your browns to pull off the upset. I just knew it was unlikely.

But if you knew much about football, you would be clear about the fact that the Browns have been one of the least boring franchises in NFL history.

Some of us are in fact old. You should be so lucky ;)

I just noticed the Browns remaining 9 schedule opponents are a combined 19 and 44-something.
There's an epic amount of suck in the NFL this year - in both conferences - all in spite of the league's avowed "parity" philosophy...

Kinda like the Patriots current opponents' record of 14-42?

Just reinforces my point: there might have been a short period of "parity-ish" many years ago but this season the poles are so far apart it's ridiculous.

Anyway...there is symmetry: Belichick's first NFL win as a head coach was in Foxboro leading the Browns against the Patriots.
His 300th win was in Foxboro leading the Patriots against the Browns.
The league has scored four touchdowns against the Patriots defense. The Patriots defense has scored four touchdowns against the league.

I could go on ;)

I remember when they played at Harvard Stadium and some drunken fans set the wooden stands on fire.

Or when they opened up Schaefer Stadium without checking the plumbing (never mind installing toilets) and 50,000 drunks clogged the drainage and the place flooded in piss.

Or when some azzholes tore town the goalpost after a win, marched it down US Rt 1 and got electrocuted when the goal post fouled on electric wires over the highway.

1990 and Rod Rust. 1- 15

Or Chuck Sullivan living in the press box during his divorce.

Or Tony F’ing Eason
John Hannah ( still the best linemen in Pats history) describing him as the only NFL quarterback to ever play the position in a skirt.

Or Dick McPherson. Or Hugh Mullen. Or, God save us, Victor Kiam.

What we’ve got we earned. F you all.
