I remember when they played at Harvard Stadium and some drunken fans set the wooden stands on fire.

Or when they opened up Schaefer Stadium without checking the plumbing (never mind installing toilets) and 50,000 drunks clogged the drainage and the place flooded in piss.

Or when some azzholes tore town the goalpost after a win, marched it down US Rt 1 and got electrocuted when the goal post fouled on electric wires over the highway.

1990 and Rod Rust. 1- 15

Or Chuck Sullivan living in the press box during his divorce.

Or Tony F’ing Eason
John Hannah ( still the best linemen in Pats history) describing him as the only NFL quarterback to ever play the position in a skirt.

Or Dick McPherson. Or Hugh Mullen. Or, God save us, Victor Kiam.

What we’ve got we earned. F you all.

tl;dr

Best post ever.Drop the mike and walk away.

I don’t think its too early to wonder if the Pats can string back to back undefeated seasons together between this year and next year.

You figure this season is in the bag and then it’s not like they’re losing anyone this off season

I wish josh Gordon the very best in Seattle. I hope he can find a place to call home and get healthy. I was hoping NE was that place.

It's always good when someone overcomes demons like what Gordon deals/dealt with. It's more important than football.

I hope he continues to successfully deal with those demons.

I'd say the jury is still out on whether he's dealing "successfully" right now.
The word on the street is he lost his mojo and management was bored.
Could be a side-effect of being on the wagon, which would actually be a good thing, I guess...

I also wish Gordon the best.. but my understanding is that his addictions had nothing to do with him being released from the Pats nor had he relapsed in any way.

He tweaked his knee and the IR and subsequent release were a maneuver that was done so that the Pats could cut him, because they didn’t think he was worth his contract, and increase the chance that he would go to a crappy team via the waiver wire in order to avoid the move coming back and biting them in the ssa.

They were simply moving on from Gordon and this way a extremely smart way to do it.

You guys realize he just has anxiety and treats it with weed right? It’s not like he’s out partying all the time... he just needs his weed to feel better

You're mostly right, but it was weed, xanax and codeine - all the stuff to make one comfortably numb.
But that actually was not the reason he was released...
