This whole thing with Rodgers is too bad. When you really boil it all down, I don’t know how you can come to any conclusion other than his entire career has been a total sham.

[^brutal^ :D]

Not sure the notion of a QB checking off to a different play deserves such blaring fonts ;)
I have to believe The Goat has pretty much carte blanche wrt play calling after reading the defense...

Lmao.
Someone's clearly dragging long baited lines right through this HBT thread and you think that's like Facebook?
Interesting.

Sadly, you're the biggest fish he's hooked so far ;)
Most of the Pack has cashed it in for this year...

No, it’s not just checking off to a different play given the defensive look at the line and the overwhelming majority of QBs have, and use, that authority.

What Rodgers does, more than other QBs, is refuse to take what the natural progression of the play is meant to produce. What I mean is, McCarthy will call a play that is specifically designed to pick up 5-10 yards... Rodgers will have a guy wide open, say, in the flat.... and he won’t pull the trigger. Instead he’ll try to buy time by rolling out trying to make a bigger play.

The problem is the play isn’t designed for him to roll out so protection breaks down... or receivers aren’t wide open like the guy in the flat was. Now you have a busted “sand lot” play... which.. Rodgers has made more than missed given how physically gifted he.... was.

Now he’s not making as many of those plays but is still freelancing like he always has. The result is what you see... a shtty offense and a fired coach.

If Rodgers just ran the effin play as called, he would have more open options and pick up consistent yards instead of what they have now.... which again... is a pile of crap.

But I guess it’s everyone else’s fault on that team. Not Aaron’s. No, no.

Pffft

I’ll reserve judgement over this assessment after the next couple of years.

But You’re making an assumption that If the 2nd or 3rd read isn’t there that the roll out was just his idea. I’d disagree and bet that’s always been in the playbook including this year. This year has been riddled with 4-5 yard passes or toss it out or on the ground

What’s missing now from previous years with his style of play is all the rookie receivers not understanding to run back out to assist and get open. If it was really sandlot he’d be launching them wildly like Favre did. His TD to INT ratio in his career I believe is so low as he watched Brett do all his brilliant or idiotic passes. Hence crap for scoring this year.

Wow. That is by far the longest and most obtuse justification for Brady throwing 5 yard dinks. So delusional.

And for the third time... that’s not what I’m saying. What I’m saying is his FIRST read, as per the play that was called IS there... he just choses not to take it and, instead, freelances and make plays up.

It used to work. Now its not. And now they suck.

I would prefer it if your filthy 4-7-1 fingers didn’t even type the GOAT’s name.
Umm cape, not sure if you realize this but I'm not actually on the team... Oh wait, you must think that you're a Patriot? Now I understand. Poor man. So delusional.
