Please.... Please come back for another year Peyton. I'm begging you. Come back and give us all the pleasure of watching you get benched around Week 6 because you can't throw a football as hard as Aaron Rodgers' boyfriend can.

Ladies and gentlemen... Prepare for the Brock Osweiler era!

He lives life to it's fullest.

I'm still trying to figure out how the Ravens were so confused over the Patriots "tricky" formations.

Uh, if you're on the line of scrimmage and covered up, you're not an eligible receiver. If you're on the line of scrimmage, and not covered up, you're an eligible receiver. What else did they need to know?

We used to run that **** in flag football in 6th grade all of the time. And it didn't work because the defense knew the rules.

Know what else MAY have tipped off them off?? The refs announcing over the freakin' PA system in the stadium just they they do for eligible receiver notifications... on one of the three plays, they actually effin said, "number 34 is not eligible... you do not have to cover him".

Are you effin serious??? Refs now tell teams who they do and don't have to cover.

how much more did freakin' Harbaugh want spoon-fed to him?

Know the rules you freakin' *****.

And, not for nothing, but if they were really all that confused about the formation, it would've been really nice if they had a convenient tool, within the rules, that they could have used to "pause" the game so the coaches could help the players figure out what was going on, and maybe talk to the refs about it if he was really all that concerned...

Maybe next year they should institute such a rule. Call it a "Pause Time", or something along those lines, and let each time do it two or three times each half?

Oh wait.

Is that like that Pepsi break that happens half-way through the game?

I agree 100%. What the Pats did was completely legal. Eligible receivers can be ineligible and ineligible receivers can become eligible, as long as the refs know. Vrabel is a good example. He has 10 TDs as a TE.

From what I have read, it seems like the Pats did announce who was ineligible. My only thought about why the Ravens are so pissed off is maybe the refs either never told them about Vereen being ineligible or they got the jersey numbers screwed up.

Either way, I don't get it. I thought the whole point of running a play was to trick the other team into thinking you are doing one thing but do something else in hopes to either get some yards on offense or sack the QB on defense. Ds run a delayed blitz all the time to fake the O line. Should they announce that over the PA too?

Granted it does suck losing when refs make mistakes but they make mistakes or bad calls on both sides and games aren't usually won because of those mistakes (well I guess except for the 2012 Fail Mary play lol). The Ravens had plenty of opportunities to win that game but they didn't. Just like the Lions can't blame that PI call that was reversed or the Cowboys can't blame the Dez catch that was reversed.

I can see it now in the Super Bowl...

Ed Hochuli: "Hey, Mr. Carroll; on this play the Patriots are going to run a go route with Gronk, on two. Good luck."

Feck, everyone knows they're doing that anyways and he's still wide open. :drunk:

Haha I just don't think anyone wants to try and tackle him. He makes defenders look stupid.

Like I was saying... they announced it in the stadium each of the three plays... just like they do when they call someone eligible (I was there).

And I'm not exaggerating... on one of the three plays, they literally said for the announcement, "number 34 is ineligible, you don't have to cover him"

(34 is Vareen)

So my theory of them saying 47 is ineligible instead of 34 is out the window. Pats had to tell the refs (which they did) and the refs have to tell the Ravens (which from what you are telling us, they did). So there is nothing for them to complain about...besides blowing 2 14 point leads.

What Harbaugh is whining about is that he had never seen it before... (again... too effin bad... know the rulebook) and according to him, he wasn't allowed to sub in players quick enough to take into account the change in formation per the announcement. He wanted time to sub in players once the announcement was made.

Who da fuq made up THAT magic rule (which actually isn't one).

When Vrable lined up as an eligible receiver and the announcement was made... do they then let the defense take some time... figure out how they want to counter that... and then sub in players???

Ehhh... no...

so Harbaugh can gargle some sweaty change purses.

Know the rules *****.

I never understood that rule. You see it a lot when the punt team is on the field but then they run off and the offense comes back on. The ref will hold the ball until the defense is set. What kind of crap is that? If the defense isn't ready, that is their fault. It takes the "trick" out of "trick play".

They did nothing wrong as far as what was explained to me, nothing wrong in what they did....Again, we just have to make sure we cover all our bases and understand they do a great job and they use a ton of personnel groups... It made it difficult for the defense to get lined up, especially if you're in a man-to-man situation and you're trying to figure out who is eligible, who's not, who's on the ball, who's off the ball, all those types of things. You don't have a lot of time. Officials aren't going to slow the thing down and let you get lined up so to speak. We have to be prepared for everything obviously.

There's a man with integrity!

This will annoy the sh!t out of Cape (which is a component of being obnoxious) but realistically I don't think the Packers have a chance or whoever comes out of the AFC. Could it happen, yeah maybe but highly unlikely. A dominant D always befuddles a strong O. Plus, Wilson is an X factor offensively. Dude was amazing for the 1 yr I watched him as a WI Badger and proving it in the Pro's. Smart QB with legs which is rare.

Anyway, Packers will win if I get that chance for the calf slice I'm going to go to jail for...
