You'd act like that too if you had as many concussions as he's had. Nah, this is actually surprising because he never once got in trouble while at Oregon. This is probably just a "drank too much" incident that he'll always regret. Boyett will find another team I bet...

Of course he didn't get in any trouble at Oregon... he, and the rest of the team, were too busy cheating.

Yes Hoppy, because college "athletes" are heavily scrutinized 100% of the time while in college.

Wait, correction, "...1% of college "athletes" are..." Fixed that.

I honestly don't care about "preseason predictions"... they're about as useful as... Moto.

That said, I love the constant, "Oh the Pats are in such a state or turmoil with all they have going on!!"

LOL!!!!

The Hernandez thing, at this point, couldn't be less of a distraction. I never understood that as a "big distraction" in the first place... like Brady is going to be in the huddle, "Ok guys... I know we're all thinking about Aaron and what happened but let's just try to focus for a minute on this next play"... How effin' stupid is that?? The media has almost entirely dropped it around the team and it now means nothing, other than they are down a TE. Big whoop. One word: Sudfeld.

"OH MY GOD!!! They let Welker go!!!!" again... big effin whoop. He was great for the Pats but he was a slot receiver in an offense and with a QB who loves the slot receiver as a safety blanket.... so he caught a ton of balls... and then dropped most of the big ones. I wish him well but I don't think anyone on the Pats is losing any sleep at all over Welker being gone... and certainly not remotely as much as everyone on the planet who thinks the sky is falling on the Pats offense.

"The D!!!! OH the D!!!!!"... The effin' D was NINTH in the NFL last year in points against... I know everyone gets all lubed up over yards but the funny thing is... the team with the most yards doesn't WIN... the team with the most POINTS wins... and the Pats "horrible" D let up less points than Texas, Green Bay and the reigning SB champ Ravens (all three with supposedly good defenses)... and the Pats D is going to be materially better this year.

effin "turmoil"?? pfft... please.

So..

Help me understand where all of this "turmoil" is coming from??

Nobody brought up turmoil, you are hearing voices again

See... it's amazing... because there's this crazy new thing called "the internet" and it has all sorts of news/sports reporters who write stuff and put it out on this "internet"....

You should check it out. It's super cool.

If you get access to it, you'll see how a lot of sports reporters are using it as an excuse as to why the Pats aren't going to be that good this year.

Pats are 10.5 point favorites at Buffalo...the spread should be much, much higher.

That doesn't actually surprise me.

Week 1 lines are always all over the road as there is no way to really know who's going to do what.

What the hell year was it?? 2003? The Pats looked really solid coming into the season and the Bills looked like... well... the Bills. The Pats were heavily favored in Week 1 against the Bills and the Bills BLEW EM OUT... 31-0 at Ralph Wilson. I was actually at that game and the score was merciful compared to how bad the Bills beat up on them.

The Pats then lost one more regular season game and went on to win the SB with a 14-2 regular season record.

Ya never know with Week 1.

(yes, it was '03... just looked it up)

What's interesting, Cape, is that for every guy like Gregg Easterbrook who writes that the Pats will have a respectable 10-6 season but lose the division to Miami thanks to the loss of Welker and the injury to Gronk (for once, he doesn't jump at the chance to bring up Spygate), there are also guys like Mike Reiss who or John Clayton writing that they'll handily walk away with the Division and be competitive in the playoffs.

Basically, it's way too early (as you said) to put any stock in what any of them have to say, one way or the other.

Except the ones saying Seattle's gonna choke. They're all on the money.

Hey, my mom needs love too. Of course, she's got far better taste than to take it from you Hoppy. At best, she might shoot you in the balls taking your advances as an attack. Then again, you could be into that sort of thing I guess so do what you gotta.

Anyone who thinks that Pats aren't walking away with the AFC East is delusional - and this is coming from someone who hates the Pats. Buffalo, Miami, and the Jets are all going to be struggling to get to six wins. Even a disappointing nine win season by the Pats would be enough to walk away with the division. Hell, Miami is 0.5 UNDERDOG at Cleveland this week. Enough said.

This is delusional. Just because you are a jets fan, doesnt mean the rest of us have lost hope and hate our teams too. You really think Miami is going to be worse than last year? Thats just ridiculous after all they have added. If youve followed anything this off-season you would know that the browns may actually be good this year so that doesnt surprise me. Dont be so depressed because Sanchez is pulling a "Chicago bears D" and pretending to be hurt to slow down the offense, even more (which doesnt seem possible).

The real reason why the Patriots are going to suck this year is because they don't have Patrick Chung anymore, obviously.

Hey let's do predictions - Assuming none of the these teams lose their starting QB:

AFC:
NE (bye)
Denver (bye)
Cincinnati
Baltimore
Indianapolis
Cleveland

NE
Denver
Cincinnati
Indianapolis

Denver
Indianapolis (upset NE)

Denver (superbowl)

NFC
Seattle (bye)
Washington (bye)
San Francisco
Atlanta
Green Bay
Dallas

Seattle
Washington
SF
ATL

Seattle (revenge for 2012)
SF

Seattle (champs)

An old AFC Denver/Seattle rivalry rehashed in the Super Bowl. Seattle wins .... starting an unprecedented run of Super Bowl championships.

1) stop saying "delusional"; it's stupid
2) you're completely delusional

Hoppy - Solid AFC playoff picks. I disagree with Baltimore making it, but I won't get into details. NFC is a bit much though - I think Seattle and Washington make the playoffs but not as 1 and 2 seeds.

Relevant/Truthful facts

The same could be said of NE and Denver for that matter Cape. :)

And Fin, since she actually shot a guy who assaulted her there it's a bit of a running joke in my family and it's always a possibility. Plus, it's Hoppy after all.

OMG... that's so funny... I was JUST sitting here thinking, "Wow, I haven't read anything super stupid on the interwebs today." and then WHAMMO.

So someone picking the Pats... who have won more games than any other team in the last decade, made it to the SB two years ago and the AFC Championship game last year... is the same "trendy pick" as picking Seattle and SF who have sucked for a while now and then had one good year out of no where with rookie QBs.

THAT'S the same?

wow.

Yes, because what happened 5, 7, or even 9 years ago means so much to the current state of the NFL. You also kind of make my point with the "Trendy" stance with your argument. Thanks for that at least.

Playing along though since you want to play history $hit into it... That would remove San Francisco from your trendy list (having been to the same AFC Championship you mention the Pats getting to the last two years also) but I still maintain Denver would be an appropriate replacement.

"this one time, accidic posted something and I actually read it"
