Here's the thing with the Pats.... They're awesome. And when you're awesome evvvvvvveryone is insanely jealous and they look for any little ***** in the armor to latch onto. The Pats played a bad game. I get it. But that really doesnt effect their overall level of awesomeness.

Put it this way, they played a horrrrrrrible game, especially by their incredibly high standards, and yet.... They are still tied for best record in the NFL.

Think about how awesome to have to be to toss out an awful showing and STILL tied for the best.

Their awesomeness knows no bounds.

(a buck for anyone who got that obscure movie reference.... Payable by The Bird)

blah blah blah, desperate excuse, desperate excuse.

the pats got dominated by the browns. that is a fact.

Here's the thing with the Cowboys.... They're awesome. And when you're awesome evvvvvvveryone is insanely jealous and they look for any little ***** in the armor to latch onto. The Cowboys played an atrocious season. I get it. But that really doesnt effect their overall level of awesomeness.
Just sayin'.

If he continues to play this well and can stay on the field the MVP will be Vick ainec.

How many defensive players have ever won MVP? Ain't many.

Thing is, I couldn't even name who the favorites would be. Brady's been a little inconsistent this season, but you've got to think about him if the Pats make a run in the second half. Peyton Manning's working with essentially nothing in Indy, but they're still 5-3 and could make a run.

Best running back in the league's been who, probably Arian Foster?

MVP will probably depend on which team emerges in the second half. Tennessee makes a run, you think about Chris Johnson. Right now, though, it's hard to say how anyone's really a favorite, so maybe this does leave the door open a little for a defensive player.

As of right now I would say probably Arian Foster. I am sure someone else will emerge as a candidate as the season goes on though.

Houston's got to be better than a .500 ballclub for Foster to win, don't they? This is what, their fourth year in a row that they project to eight or nine wins. Not sure a .500 showing is enough, especially given that they've got Shaub and Andre Johnson on the team. Arien's been probably the best RB in the league, but he may or may not be the most important player on his own team and his own team is only a .500 club.

Yeesh... I was braced to take a loss since we had backups and practice squad guys in so many key positions, but that was even beyond what I expected. I have a feeling that many (or most) of them were thinking "We're gonna lost this game... lets just not get anyone hurt and go after the Cardinals next weekend".

Don't feel too bad...I had to witness that abortion live. What a waste of money that was.

Shaun Hill gives you a puncher's chance. He's had some pretty impressive games over his career. I didn't even know Drew Stanton was in the League.

Any Dallas fans around? Ehh, that's just too easy though.

My team is the Packers. I'm not from Wisconsin, but I live in the LA area so we get to pick whatever team we want. If we win the Superbowl I've got $500 coming my way!

Lame. Where'd you grow up? You can't just pick whoever you want, there are RULES involved, we've been over this in all kinds of detail. I don't trust anyone in LA anyway, Billy Simmons moved there and his brain turned into rice pudding within six months.

Sounds like it's gonna be Stanton. Hill has a broken arm via NYG.

Area newpapers are rumouring that the Lions will probably try to pick up a free agent since Stafford and Hill are both out with serious injury and the Lions will NEED a second QB just to continue playing.

I think, who cares? They are willing to put anyone in to kick with Hanson got hurt, why not let pull some guy off the street? Can't get much worse.

Maybe next week I'll be in a better mood...

Any Dallas fans around?

Die Hard. Like I've said before, I was a fan at 1 & 15 and when they were S.B. Champs., repeatedly. Jerry Jones is poison for them. As soon as they started winning, he took control from Jimmy Johnson and they've been downhill ever since. He put that schmuck Switzer in there and even his incompetent a$$ won a superbowl. Go back and look at the tapes, it should have been 3 in a row but his stupid a$$ couldn't even manage the clock. I'm not a great fan of Parcell's but as soon as his draft choices started playing and heading to the play offs, he and Jerry had to part ways. All of the truly dominate teams can build a dynasty with different personnel and coaches. As a fan, I hope the Cowboys are humiliated in every game for the rest of the year. As soon as Jerry's ticket sales drop, he'll get a real coach and they'll be play off bound, for a while.

Oh! and before you say it, I fully expect this team to have an amazing run, defy all odds and get in the playofffs.

Then they will poop out to some inferior team like NE or the Jets.

Nope.

Phillip Rivers. Who is his receiving corp? And he's still putting up those numbers?

please....

Just wait until VJ comes back and Floyd and Nanee get healthy.

Oh, and some guy named Gates...

Phillip who? no-one cares about a 4-5 team

uh, i'm still not caring about a 4-5 team.

go start a thread about "football teams with no impact on anything that actually matters"

If I had a little bit more time today, I'd love to look and see how many MVPs have been won by players whose teams didn't make the playoffs. It can't be many. Rivers may be having the best season of anybody, but it's hard to see how a player can be "most valuable" when his team is sitting home in January. Same reason Arian Foster's probably on the outside looking in right now, even those his ##s are absolutely rid-ic-u-f*ck-ing-lous.
