What's great is that Bill Nye and The Wilson dude are doing exactly what people keep accusing Pats supporters of: they're picking and choosing the bits and pieces of BB's argument the other night that they CAN tear apart, tearing them apart, and conveniently ignoring those that they can't easily defeat.
BB explained, in plain English, that the team's ball preparation process (whatever rubdowns, scuff-ups, or mojo they do to the ball) effectively increases the pressure by 1PSI. They perform this shortly before handing the balls over to the officials. By halftime, the effects of that process (likely, warmer pigskin and bladder from friction or whatever, causing the air in the ball to warm up - but that's just a guess, since BB didn't get into the details of whatever mojo they do to the balls) have worn off, and that 1PSI has disappeared. Further, they did find about .5 PSI just from temperature change alone - which just about anybody who knows Boyle's Law can figure is pretty accurate.
Bill Nye and Wilson Ball dude completely ignored the ball prep angle, and completely attacked the weather and atmospheric pressure angle - never once did BB say that atmospheric pressure had a dang thing to do with it. But what they're arguing is impossible and what BB said happened are two different things.
In simpler terms, eff those guys, they're hacks.
Riiiiight either BillyCheck has a room full of 15 year old boys prepping the balls or maybe his understanding of science is skewed and could use a refresher.
Conveniently Bill Nye is an excellent teacher or perhaps a Mr. Wizard is more his taste.
