*lurks back into the shadows for the rest of the season...

I can officially say "We" when I talk about the Packers. $275 lighter in the wallet but whatever...

Same here!
Nice! I'd have done it, too, if the Pats ever offered shares.
Of course, it kind of reminds me of an old Dilbert cartoon, where Dogbert's a venture capitalist. Dogbert offers an entrepreneur 100% of the special non-equity decorative stock, while he himself will settle for all the "common" stock.
If I was a Pack fan I guess I would have thought about it... and then realized simply lighting the money on fire was would have been equally productive... so... I probably would have passed.
I dunno... something about the whole, "Hey... give us money and we'll send you a piece of paper that says you sent us money" part of it doesn't really convince me.
Jeez, why am I knockin' this?!?
HEY GUYS!!!! Everyone on this thread!!! Send me $100 and I will send you a really nice piece of paper (suitable for framing!!) that says you sent me $100!!! Ehhhhhh?? That's a bargain right?! Less than HALF of what the Packers are charging and I promise MY piece of paper will be even bigger and have more pretty colors on it. Know what??? EFF IT... YOU tell ME what colors you want it in and it'll be in the mail ASAP! Your own, personally customized, piece of paper that says you gave me $100!!!

Here is just a preview.... I am not nervous about posting it on the internet for folks to just steal because it doesn't have the official seal on it.

Cape Brewing said:LOL... I just had this image of all of these fans sitting in this massive hall, attending a "shareholder meeting". These people have the Cheese heads on... the farve jerseys with the big "X" painted on them... high fiving each other... "WOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"
"Ok ladies and gentleman, first on the agenda, we will discuss our amortization schedule justification for depreciating the fixed assets in the concession stands. As you are all probably aware, Wisconsin state tax code allows us.... "
(jaws dropped all over the hall)
Four hours later.... hundreds of Packer fans are sound asleep...
"and for our final vote, the floor moves to approve the salary of our Chief Accounting Officer and the budget for the overall accounting staff... all in favor??"
... just as someone actually shoots themselves out of boredom.
"WOOOOOOO!!!! shareholder meetings!!!! WHOOOOOOOOO!!!!"
LOL

It's a non voting share.

Woohoo!!!!!!!
Bernie, if you aren't at least a *little* obnoxious, what the hell are you doing in this thread?
Again. Don't be jealous. It's a non voting share. Just keep reminding yourself of how much the pats suck and that you wouldn't want to own part of the team, even if you could.
please don't generalize. I take care not to do that. I am smart enough to know that eventually it will bite you in the ass.
Come on, now, Cape. You can't tell me that if the Pats hald a similar stock sale that you wouldn't jump at it. Ok, you COULD tell me that, but I wouldn't believe you.
yeah... I know.. it's pretty sweet isn't it?
Let me know what colors you want Az. Like I was saying, it is FULLY customizable.
The ONLY change to the language you might see is that my lawyers are advising me that I might want to add, "roll it up into a cone, shove it in your butthole and play it like an a$$-trumpet" to the list of things you can do with it. Other than that... it should be pretty much as advertised.

There are tears running down my face from how happy and excited I am. You mean I can get more than one color just for the same $100?!?!!?
Not in a million years...
Trash-talking aside for a split second... I get it. It's kinda cool to "own" a share and all and it is nothing more than the people of Green Bay (mostly) to selectively tax fans to help support the stadium. It is memorabilia and I get it. Actually... I think it kind of a cool way to raise money given the ownership structure of the team. Let fans pay for it instead of the general population who may or may not care about the team. That said, I was only half joking on my post making fun of the shareholder meeting. What do people think these meetings are?? Keg parties?? And c'mon... anyone who thinks these pieces of paper are worth anything more than kind of a cool conversation piece is outta their mind.
And no...I honestly wouldn't. I have season tickets and write Mr. Kraft a big fat check every summer. I don't need to send him another check just so I can go to the shareholder meeting
Resume trash talking.
"a$$-trumpet"... c'mon... that's funny.
BWAAA HAAH AHAHAHAHAH
Yeah... the sucked their way all the way to the #1 seed in the AFC. LOL!!!
