Got some old oxygen dive tanks that need to be rehydro'd. Can these be converted to hold C02 or Nitrogen?

Want to start a nanobrewery in the next year and should have use for the larger tanks

Thanks!

That's an interesting question, you should call your local supply company, praxair, or whomever and ask

They'll be purging required and the fittings may not be compatible

I'd like to know what you find out

I'll let you know. They open on Monday that's why I was asking.

Tank is a tank. Valves and threads are not. For them to fill o2 and co2 you will need a mixing whip to go from scuba valve to o2 and co2. Easier to sell the scuba cylinders and purchase tanks with the correct valve.

I converted an 80 cu.ft. aluminum dive tank to CO2.

You will need : A CGA 320 tank valve.

A good Machinist, who will machine said new valve, and cut threads into it, to match the threads of the removed dive tank valve.

Check the fit of the new valve, and send valve and packing to the vendor, to re-cert your tank, and fill it.
