O ring question on gas line connect

Should there be a rubber o ring next to the black nozzle? I have always had one there but it does make connecting the line a pain sometimes.

No. The o-ring that makes the seal is on the keg post. The keg post o-ring seals against the inside barrel of the disconnect.

if you are asking about the plastic arm that pushes in the poppet (yours looks black in photo?) yes, it should have a small oring on it where it sits against the body of the qd.
