Hi, all!

I'm a longtime beer lover, and I just got a homebrew kit from my inlaws for my birthday. I'm from the USA, but now I live in Adelaide, Australia.

My first brew went ridiculously awry as I'll detail in a post asking for advice, but I'm sure I'll get better. I'm an experienced baker and cook, so I'm used to making stupid mistakes at first. Glad to be here!

Brewing and cooking are very similar. You will get to try different things in many variations of a recipe until it is perfected. One of the many joys/annoyances of the trade. All I can say is don't get discouraged things can go wrong and things will go right the key is to stay focused and enjoy it! your making your own liquid gold for christ sake!

I can see you won't be giving up soon and that's cool. Like many of us, you'll make crappy beer at first but will drink some of it anyway cuz ya made it. You'll start to make better beer as you bring water parameters, fermentation temp control, infection and oxidation issues, etc, under control and you'll drink even more of it. Soon, you'll be making very good beer and wonder why you didn't do your 'current' methods back when. Oh, and you'll be drinking a whole lotta beer! -burp-

Welcome and the best yeast to ya! :mug:
