I get to do all of my carboy rinsing outside with hoses. That makes the wife a very happy camper.
I might even get myself a burner so that I can brew outdoors.

Mind if I ask how that stove works? I've got an uncle and a cousin who are going to give extract w/specialty grain brewing a chance, and they both have glass topped stoves. They're both slightly concerned about being able to boil ok in a big stainless pot. Should they be concerned?RLinNH said:Last time I made a starter I had a boilover. You can get a roiling boil with about 2.5 gallons on a glass top (in a 5 gallon SS pot), but not much more than that. I only tried it twice before moving outside. I used it yesterday to heat sparge water...took an hour to get 4 gallons to 170F.Kevin K said:Mind if I ask how that stove works?
