I get to do all of my carboy rinsing outside with hoses. That makes the wife a very happy camper.;) I might even get myself a burner so that I can brew outdoors. :ban:

yeah - i need to brew outside too.

last brew day i steamed up the kitchen so bad i had drips off the ceiling.
(swmbo hasn't noticed the stains yet)
i may survive:rockin:

Last time I made a starter I had a boilover. We have one of those glass topped stoves and now it is all stained with black, burnt DME. :(

So yeah, outside I go.:D

My wife always complains of the smell so I brew when she isnt going to be home all day. So I am looking to buy the setup for outdoors so I can have a good reason to get away from her!:mug:

Just about ready to move outdoors myself. Got the pot pretty much all set except for some finish work on the cut edge. And my friend is making legs for my turkey cooker. I'll be good to go in a couple of weeks. Then it's time to do a double batch.

Almost have enough junk out of the garage to brew. It's still 40F and raining here.

Mind if I ask how that stove works? I've got an uncle and a cousin who are going to give extract w/specialty grain brewing a chance, and they both have glass topped stoves. They're both slightly concerned about being able to boil ok in a big stainless pot. Should they be concerned?

There's a product called Weiman Cook Top that's available in supermarkets that I use on my glass top stove. It will get those stains right off.

It's been great brewing weather for the past 8 months here and it's time to finish brewing the last few batches before it hits 120°F. Chillers just aren't very effective then.

You can get a roiling boil with about 2.5 gallons on a glass top (in a 5 gallon SS pot), but not much more than that. I only tried it twice before moving outside. I used it yesterday to heat sparge water...took an hour to get 4 gallons to 170F.

Kevin, they will not have a problem as far as boiling the wort on a glass topped stove. Tell them to jump into the kitchen and BREW!!!:rockin:
