I thought this worked pretty well and pretty inovative.... maybe.
I took a hair "bobble" or "tie", the elastics used to tied hair back. I doubled it round the handle of the pot and passed it through itself to create a solid fixing to the pot handle.
The open end, I scrunch up the end of the grain bag and wrap it around it, then twist and around again... and again.. and again, like wrapping it round a pony tail, until that grain bag is going nowhere.
You can do this with the bag hung off the outside of the pot. Your grain bag can be flipped over and into the water/wort as and when you need.
When lifting it out, you can scoop it up in the sieve/colander for sparging or set it in a bowl beside the boil pot. Then you can unwrap the hair tie from the bag and use the same fixing for the hops or other grains.
I know there are better ways, but this worked for me. Quite easy, hassle/fuss free. You can vary the height of the grains by moving the hair tie around the handle etc.
