Nottingham Temp Question

I pitched notty lastnight and I've very good airlock activity for about 13 hours. My primary is in the garage and the temps in my are are suppose to drop to mid 30's tonight. My garage will likely see low 50's...maybe uppere 40's. I've got the primary wrapped in 3 blankets. Would I be ok leaving it in the garage or do I need to bring it inside to an ambient temp of 65? Right now my primary temp is @ 68.

I've heard notty can handle low temps but not sure how low.

Nottingham is my standby yeast. I've seen it handle 50-90 before I had good temp control. I'd haul it in to 65 rather than expose it to possible 40s though.
 
Yeah, keep it at least where it wont drop out of suspension,once its going im not shure how much it can drop but i wouldnt go below 5 degrees of the bottem threshold. You also dont want it going dormant and not finsishing itself up for a few weeks like it needs to.
 
Thanks...I assumed that would be the answer but not sure how much blankets really help.
This is my first time with nottingham and I'm super impressed with how quick it was. I pitched lastnight at midnight and at 7 this AM the temp was already 72 compared to the other primary at 66 (conditioning). It started much quicker than the WL and S-05 I've previously used. Plus it's 6 bucks cheaper than WL at my LHBS.
 
Nottingham is a good yeast,did you hydrate or just pitch dry? The blankets actually should help if it was up and going because of the 5-10 degree heat it can generate durning once it starts really going. I was just wondering because i just started hydrating dry yeast and ive been getting starts before 12 hrs as opposed to after 12 hrs pitching dry.
 
I hydrated it. I brought it in just to be safe. I just hope I dont need to mop the ceiling tomorrow due to a clogged airlock. The lock is free and clean of krausen right now but worried about warmer ambient temps increasing the krausen volume. It's in a bucket so I've got no guage as to how big the krausen is right now.
 
Fortunatley i caught it in the airlock and had to switch it out.I know what you mean about it clogging it could clogg before you see brown in the airlock.Since i started hydrating and had my first blowoff i automatically just used a blowoff instead of a airlock, it only costs a tube and you can just use your sanitizer you used for the carboy when you made the batch.Putting the sanitizer in a jar.Just as simple as an airlock,just a little bulkier.
