Hello Fellow HomeBrewTalk Users,
I will soon be relocating back to Seattle after spending a year in San Diego. This last year has brought about many changes, as well as the opportunity to refine my skills at brewing. Finding this site was an integral part in my growth as a brewer and now I'm curious if it can help continue that by helping me make connections with the Seattle/Tacoma/Portland brewing community.
I have a newfound appreciation and passion for beer and would like to find a position with an established brewery to work hard and gain experience and knowledge from those who know how to do it well on a larger scale.
I do not have an education in brewing science, or anything that is directly related to the brewing process for that matter. But I do have a solid foundation of education (three majors and a few IT certificates) and worldly knowledge (I've been to about 30 countries and 40 states) to go along with a handy ability to learn things quickly and a strong desire to find a great job in the brewing industry.
I will be in Seattle by mid-May but am available for phone or email interviews before then. Or if there is an opportunity to meet up during the Craft Brewers Conference, that would be great as well.
Anyway, if you know anyone who could use full-time or part-time help, or even occasional slave labor at their brewery, I'd be interested in talking with them and hopefully lending a hand and learning a lot along the way.
Any contacts, help, or suggestions on how to get into a brewing gig are very much appreciated.
Thanks for your time and thoughts,
Brandon
PS - I've actually sent a version of this message to several Seattle breweries along with my resume to see if anyone happened to have an opportunity, or if my enthusiasm for brewing would persuade them to make one. The response has been positive, but no one has had openings yet.
