First use of my norcal yeast harvester on the unitank. I dumped one full jar of trub before this started to settle out. Nearing the end of fermentation and before my planned cold crash. Looks like a nice layer of healthy yeast dropping out.

And this morning. Fermentation is still going by signs of regulation airlock activity. Hoping to sneak another jar out as I cold crash in a few days.

I give this harvester 5 stars. Very easy to use and obviously works great.

I bought the yeast brink first thinking that I might be able to use it as a harvester, but the down tube keeps it from being able to be used that way.

The brink is good for injecting, but not as good at harvesting.

I just dump the trub, and then wash it. Get plenty of good cells out of it. I just love that i can dump the trub into a controled space instead of it spraying out of the pressurized unitank haha.

Yeast harvester is about as controlled a space as it gets. Goes into a sanitized jar. No need for pressure yet in that stage. Small controlled volume that you can see when the trub ends and the yeast begins. No need to have to wash, just dump the bad and keep the good.
