I have searched the forum and web and can't find out how to fix this. Maybe using the wrong terms? Don't know, hope someone can help.
This is probably a stupid question, but ...
My oatmeal stout has been in the cornelius keg for 2 weeks at 65-70 degrees. I tapped a glass and it tasted great. But, instant belching! Is this normal for homebrew? Did I tap it too early? Is this too much carbonation? Should I have refrigerated it before drinking? I had it outside in -4 degree weather for an hour, so it was probably about 50-60 degrees when I drank it. I didn't need to add any CO2 since the pressure gauge was at about 5 pounds. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Weird. Does beer normally make you belch? I've never had a homebrew make me belch any more than normal....

Although, now that I read this thread, I'm burping alot :D

I don't know about the belching bit, but in terms of dissolving the co2 into solution, the should be chilled for a couple of days.

Whoah... me too... wth?

As to OP's question, I am not sure what the issue could be. I also haven't noted more burping with homebrew... now another kind of gas can be an issue (pun intended) until your system gets used to the yeast

1) Store bought beer sometimes makes me burp. Only if I drink a lot, though.
2) I think the key may be the temperature. I will try cooling it for 24 hours and post if it works. Thanks!

Your beet is making you gassy due to the yeast in suspension. Most commercial beer is filtered.

Your body will get use to the yeast. Takes a month or 2.
