another noob question, watchd a bunch of video about making a starter, all good but none so far is telling me how long to keep it on the stir plate....
Anyone have a recommended brand/kind of yeast nutrient?
Eighteen to thirty-six hours generally. There are some variations by type of yeast and wort temperature.
Ambient room temp is acceptable. The wort may not smell or taste good at warm temperatures, but you are propagating cells not making beer.
