Ahhhh...finally home from a nice relaxing trip to Wisconsin and Minnesota.
We toured the Leinies brewery on Saturday, got to try the brand new Sunset Wheat before it hit stores. It was okay. It had a fake orangey aroma and taste that I wasn't too fond of. Of course I sampled a bunch of other Leinie's products too. Creamy Dark is still my favorite.
Monday I went to Northern Brewer. Nice place. I imagined a HUGE store though. My LHBS here in Va Beach is actually bigger. Hard to imagine seeing NB puts out such a nice catalog. I got lots of new toys for the brewery too.
A new Schirron brazed plate chiller,
and a weldless thermothingy/sightglass kit for my HLT. I also picked up a jug of Sprecher Cream Soda extract so I can "brew" up some soda with my daughters this summer.
Can't wait!
