I was talking with a friend about brewing, and we decided my next brew should be a red rye IPA. So, here's what I'm thinking:

10 gallon batch OG of 1.062

19 lbs Pale Malt (2 Row) US 72.2 %
4 lbs Rye Malt (4.7 SRM) 15.2 %
1 lbs Caramel Malt - 80L 6-Row 3.8 %
1 lbs Carared (Weyermann) 3.8 %
12.0 oz Aromatic Malt (26.0 SRM) 2.9 %
8.0 oz Special B Malt (180.0 SRM) 1.9 %
1.0 oz Blackprinz (500.0 SRM) 0.2 %
1.00 oz Magnum Leaf [16.40 %] - FWH
2.00 oz 7 C's Falconers Flight [10.30 %] - Boil 15.0 min
2.00 oz Columbus (Tomahawk) [15.00 %] - Boil 10.0 min

2.00 oz Columbus (Tomahawk) [12.90 %] - Steep/Whirlpool
1.00 oz 7 C's Falconers Flight [10.30 %] - Steep/Whirlpool

Dryhop with 3-4 ounces "something"

Yeast strain- undecided. Have to check my supply. Probably have most US 'standard' strains.

I have decent quantities of other hops, mostly centennial, citra, galaxy, simcoe, and a few others in smaller amounts.

What do you think?

Looks great! I've had a few delicious Rye IPA's lately and I'm thinking of brewing one myself. I'm curious as to what yeast strain might help bring out that nice Rye flavor in the beer. That is something I haven't given a ton of thought to yet. Let me know on what you decide to go with on the yeast!

I love the way this looks. Love the rye, love the blackprinz, love everything about it.
I'm not a huge red fan and never have brewed one myself but as much as I love Galaxy, I actually think the other hops you mention would be better suited to this recipe. Add an ounce of Simcoe, Citra, Centennial and keep the Galaxy for something else.
Just a huge, IPA-Hop Head's point of view but I'm following this one to the end.
