As I sit and contemplate how to break it to my better half that what fills the front and back seats of my truck is not only beneficial I brewing, but a steal.

Tonight I picked up a plethora of brewing supplies and equipment from a craigslist ad. Unfortunately a brewer moving and unable to take it all with. I cleaned up! And for $30!

Now what has been the craziest thing(s) you've acquired and hesitated bringing in the house without first developing a game plan and speech prepared?

Congrats on the pickup. I bet it's exciting.

As to your question, nothing comes to mind. It's usually getting power tools. She feels I can borrow everything from neighbors but she wants me to lay 800 square feet of laminate with a jigsaw? Yeah right. I'm hitting Lowes and not going cheap.

If your wife ******* that you spent $30 on enough brewing equipment to fill the front and back seats of a vehicle (I don't care what it is) you need to buy a new wife.

I rarely bring home large purchases without talking about it, mostly out of excitement. but if I go shopping or bring something home that I want to fly under the radar it just goes right into the garage from the car. do not pass go, do not explain why you spent $200

pictures of your homebrewing goodies?

James. If I bought tools to work on the house I could spend thousands and that would be acceptable. I did break it to her last night and things were good. It's not necessarily the dollar amount that she is concerned about, it's usually the spending on hobbies. I raise chickens, turkeys an pheasants. Usually that's where the bulk of the gripe comes from.

As far as a list of goodies I've only begun taking a tally.

So far:
15+ 1 gal bottles
3 - hydrometers
Funnels
1- beer capper
1- sexy bottle corker
Several 6.5 gal fermenters
100s of new corks brand new still sealed
100s of bottle wraps
Airlocks
And a few beer and wine making books

And some days being single would not be bad until I picture it. LOL
I'd be in the woods living with all kinds of things brewing everywhere around the house. And me stumbling around going between them lol

And to add to the list:
Bottle drying tree
3 gal better bottle
1-long handle stirring spoon
1- Mix-stir degassing rod
1-wine thief
1- cane auto racking cane setup
And this thing

Hmm. I have to look through the fermenters and see if that bowl is inside.

I'm still going through the boxes and such. I found a bottle I pectic enzyme and a bag of carb tabs.

She still had a Mr. Beer kit that she was going to throw in too.

That bowl breaks easy. I broke mine second time I used it. Still is one of my favorites gadgets, I just put it in a 5 gallon bucket with about 2" star san. About 10 pumps to prime and you are good to go. 2-3 squirts into a clean bottle and it is sanitized.

That's excellent! Thanks for the tip!
