I want to get myself a Kegerator for my birthday in February. I'm thinking of a dual tap model, but not sure where/what to look for. Any thoughts/suggestions?

keep an eye on local craigslist. You will want a minimum of a 5# co2, ideally 10 or 20, a reliable refrigerator, and look into a source for cornelius kegs which are easier to use for homebrewers than the Sanke type systems the comericial guys use. Check out the banners that pop up on this site all the time. They acually have what you need. Fridge plus Co2 and kegs may cost upwards of $300 even if done cheap. Remember though, the equipment lasts forever so buy good stuff right off the bat. Now you are closer to $500.

I was looking into mini fridges for my kegerator. Then I read a lot more on freezer conversions. HD and Lowes both had huge deals on their 7cf chest freezers. $159 with free shipping. That will hold 3 kegs on the floor loosely or 4 with a super tight fit with 1 on the hump as well as your 5lb co2 tank. With everything ordered including all the hookups, line, faucets, shanks, etc, I'm in my keezer for just under $500. You can obviously do this cheaper by not spending $160 for a new freezer and get one off craigslist. It depends how much you want to spend and how much space you have. Limiting space, mini fridge with towers work nicely. A bit more space, can't go wrong with a chest freezer IMHO.
