Hey forum. My name is Rob and I am from Chester, Virginia. My buddy got me into brewing a few weeks ago and here I am. First brew I tried was a few months ago. It was a Blue Moon clone and it was going well until I boiled the yeast. Lesson learned the hard way. Honestly I was mad at myself for making a stupid mistake. I took a break from brewing. A few weeks later I went over to my buddy's house and watched/helped him brew some stout. Within a week of that, I had already started up some Belgian pale (that I just bottled yesterday) and some Cherry Wheat that I just poured over some cherries in the secondary. I am hooked. I love the forums and checking out the recipes. Wish I had more time, money, and equipment to make several batches at once. Maybe one day. Thanks everyone.

Rob

A lot of "locals" here. Very good. Midlothian isn't too far away. Falls Church is where me and wife got married. And Sterling, what can I say about Sterling...other than where the hell is Sterling? Hehe. Glad I found this place because there is so much info. Love checking out recipes for different beers, and love checking out brewing advice.

Sterling is the hometown of international film & TV superstar Patton Oswalt

part of Washington Dulles International Airport is in Sterling (reading this from Wikipedia page.... how the EFF does a town contain PART of an airport?) and it used to be home to AOL corporate HQ

we have a Wegman's, so we're kind of a big effin' deal

I've been to Chester.. pretty little town. And I once dated a girl from Falls Church.. she was pretty too. :)

Welcome aboard!
