Well, I got a new plug-in drill for Christmas. I asked for it under the guise of "need to do home improvement projects and the battery one I have runs out blahblahblah..."

We all know I was tired of running out of batteries halfway through my crush. ;)

My dad surprised me with a Craftsman Professional. Woohoo! I finally got to use it tonight (haven't brewed due to winter weather and getting busy with other things), and after crushing 8 lbs of grain for a session blonde, I've never seen more smoke coming from a drill. The smell was horrendous.

So I guess I'll be going back to my cheap Ryobi battery powered drill...

What kind of drill are you all using for your Junk Corona Mills?

$35 1/2" d handle drill from harbor freight. Its adjustable speed, has chewed through a lot of grain and seems to still be going strong.

Just return the drill and get a replacement.

This.

Then save nice tools for when you will actually use them for their intended purpose so you can avoid awkward conversations when the person who gave it to you wants to borrow it (Im know, where is the fun in that). Besides, it seems that cheap crap is almost always better at handling abuse that would otherwise void a warranty for even thinking about.
