Picked up a new 8.8 chest freezer. Is it advisable to run the unit on max setting (or mid, factory setting was mid) for a day or two to let the Freon work it’s way through the system? Or do you think it’s ok to build the keezer and just start it up the first time when it’s built, knowing that it’s not going to get below freezing, since it will be on temp control?

Part of me says to run it at mid or max empty for a couple days to see how cold it gets and to make sure it actually works properly, instead of building everything only to find out it doesn’t work right and I have to have a tech come out for warranty service and I have to take everything apart.

Thoughts?
