Hey all. I'm finishing up my newly built keezer and have ran into an issue I wasn't expecting. I have 8 faucets and ordered 2 - 4" x 19" drip trays - each tray is under 4 faucets - however I ran into something I didn't expect.

I used pine for my collar and then wrapped that in a nice 1x stained oak board. I was sizing up where to install the brackets I bought and discovered they were not long enough AND if I put the drip trays flush against the keezer then the faucets won't actually drip in them. Basically the oak sticks out an inch past the front of the keezer and then the faucets stick out a few inches past that. In eyeballing where the beer would drip it's about 4.5" from the keezer wall. I guess I could go look for 5" brackets but there will be an obvious gap of an inch or so between the tray and the keezer wall. Is that a big deal? In looking at pictures of keezers from Google searches it looks like everyone else was able to mount their trays flush with the front wall of the keezer.

Solutions would seem to be 5" L brackets (epoxied to front of keezer with velcro on top of bracket and bottom of drip trays to hold them securely) or 6" wide drip trays. Thoughts?

I didn't know how to set up my drip tray at all. What I finally did was to attach some black shelf brackets to the keezer collar and the dolly on which the keezer rests. I then attached two six inch shelf supports to the upright brackets. I fashioned a shelf with a wood backsplash. The backsplash fits between the upright brackets. The drip tray and cap catcher rest on the shelf. It isn't finished yet, but here is what I have.

I hope this helps.

What about using wood "straps" to hold the drip trays. Attach the straps to the wood collar and the attach the trays to Them at the bottom. You would need 4 straps and this way the the drip trays would be in line directly under the faucets.

The drip tray was the toughest thing for me.

I got a piece of sheet metal from HD, and bent about a 2" lip at the top. Then I took the collar off and the metal piece rests on the freezer. Then put the collar back on. This holds the metal pretty secure. I then made a nice wood piece with a couple of screws in it that holds the drip tray. Works great, very secure, no drilling into freezer. You don't even see the piece of sheet metal. I used liquid nail and a couple of small screws that hide behind the drip tray to attach the wood piece to the sheet metal.
