I've had Netflix for a few years but it seems lately there is less and less that I find interesting enough to watch. A couple of weeks ago I started a trial of Amazon Prime and have been checking out their streaming video offerings. I can't say that their selections are much better than those at Netflixs so far. FWIW, about 90% of my watching is done on my IPad.

I'm probably going to keep Prime so my decision is whether to also keep Netflix. For those who've had both, is there any particular reason to keep Netflix if you have Prime?

I bought Netflix and let my friend use it, he bought prime and lets me use it. Thats why I keep both. Netflix offers an interesting selection of old, weird, neverheard of, etc type of movies while Prime is more current.

Netflix's original content is pretty good. House of Cards (though you can get this on Prime now), and Orange is the New Black are great.

Other than that, the services seem to have come to parity in terms of content.

Thanks to you both. I tried to watch the Orange is the New Black pilot and was completely underwhelmed because it was hard to feel any empathy for the main character. In fact almost all of the Netflix-produced content I've watched has been pretty weak, even the Steve Van Zandt (big Silvio fan here) ex-mobster fish-out-of-water series Lilyhammer.

Decisions, decisions...

I have both Prime and Netflix. To truthfully answer question about keeping both. I have Amazon Prime for Students which is half priced, and my mom pays for netflix family pack :p

On the other hand, I watch Netflix a TON on my GoogleTV (much more than Amazon on average), but I order enough from Amazon yearly to justify Prime shipping.
