Notes:
------
bottled 2/8/11. 1lb fancy (fancy looks like chips rather than shreds) flaked coconut from whole foods was added to fermenter for a week. 1oz oak chips were soaked in pusser's rum in a sealed jar, just enough to cover. After 2 weeks all the rum was drained and added at bottling and the chips were set aside. An extra splash of rum was added for good measure. Taste before adding rum had a good coconut flavor, after adding rum, might have overdone it a little bit... that should fade with age though and may be fine when the beer is ready.

As a Monkey Island fan I absolutely love it!
Perhaps in the future you can brew a beer called "Grog" and list the ingredients on the label as "a secret mixture that contains one or more of the following: Kerosene, Propylene Glycol, Artificial Sweeteners, Sulfuric Acid, Rum, Acetone, Battery Acid, red dye#2, Scumm, Axle grease and/or pepperoni"
:D

Hahaha I almost did that actually, but then I decided that this was a little too refined to be called grog :p

The beer actually turned out fantastic, I'm planning on entering it in the NHC.
