Hey guys, first post, been lurking for awhile though :p

Anyway, I'm right in the middle of steeping my grains, when I realize that, while 3 pounds Light DME is on the ingredients list, it's not listed at what point to use it, at all!

A little background, I'm making an Avery New World Porter clone, with LME being a late addition. Nowhere does it say when to use the DME. I've been steeping my grains for about 45 minutes now, and am about ready to bring it to a boil and add my 60 minute hops.

What should I do with this DME? Add it right after it starts boiling? Before the boil? Late addition?

Much appreciated in advance,

Awesome, the brewing shall continue:]

Didn't get to give a formal introduction before, I'm a 21 year old from central Iowa. Been brewing about 4-5 months, but had to take a 3 month break because of a job, and this is the first batch I've done since my hiatus, so I'm rusty.

I'll get to my profile when I'm done brewing for the night, but great to be a part of this website, expect to see my face around quite often. This is my first batch I'm kegging, so I'm pretty pumped.

Thanks again for the help,

as soon as you reach a boil, remove the pot from heat and stir in your DME well. then bring back to a boil and add your hops.
