My friend can't have gluten anymore and I would like to make her a beer that actually tastes good. She loves a raspberry wheat beer but can't drink em now.
Brewing GF is foreign to me, the thought of not having grain malt makes me quiver but I want to do this despite that. I have no idea how to conseptualize the recipe, where to start?
I know this is an oxymoron but I want to make a wheat beer without the wheat, haha! Or at least something in that flavor profile, no molasses, it's too overpowering. Not too hoppy, smooth and bodied, pale to light amber in color.

Any grand ideas?

Also check out the recipe section. I think there is a raspberry ale in the gluten free.

Come to the dark side of the forum and we will try to help you.

Also, I sort of agree with MrSnacks. The gluten free diet doesn't have many health effects for non gluten intolerant people. It just seems to help because you cut out like all of your carbohydrates.

However, we are talking about 1% of the population that has coeliac. Anyway, this isn't the place to have a debate on it. I am sure your friend has very valid reasons for being GF.

So, come on over and we will see what we can do to help you out!
