My wife’s grandma knows the owners of Boiler so we stopped in there yesterday for some crowlers...

What happened? This place had some really solid IPAs when I visited in 2016 but this time all they had was a gimmicky strawberry kiwi hazy IPA thing and a DIPA that had a strong unwanted peanut butter flavor going on. And then a shitload of stouts and porters. In July.

We grabbed a crowler of the pineapple mango Berliner which straight up tasted like fruit soda with no sour note at all. Also snagged a crowler of the Citra dry hopped Saison which we’ll try tonight. I hope it’s better.

That Saison was better, but nothing great. Cool to see that it was a collab with a new brewery in Elk Horn. Excited for Elk Horn getting brewery, it's really close to where my parents live in the middle of nowhere.

Couldn't talk anyone into going to White Elm, but I bought cans of Paradigm Shift, Inverted Citra, Saison and Hibiscus Saison on this trip. Brought a few back to Seattle with me.

Also stopped in at Kros Strain and Krug Park, always great places.

Unfortunately a lot of people like Graham bought them so they could trade them away . This market is 99.9% IPA and adjunct stout drinkers . Which hey I like those too but not to the exclusion of all other beer

Awww man, that's really disappointing to hear.

Linden Market at 132nd and Dodge may still have some. Pretty sure it's out at Spirit World but I know they have several Tomes.



Out of curiosity does it seem like the new manager is still ordering saisons or that they are leftover from before her time? I know she said she doesn't like German or Belgian beer (my favorites) so I figured those selections would get hurt if not devastated. Cheers Martin!

She is. I can craft beer too and pester the **** out of people for what I want. Just got a fresh batch of Sans Culottes that appeared to move pretty quickly, thought it maybe something Matt just had to offer. Damn that beer is good.

I've never been a fan for all the reasons you have mentioned. Even the early THAT's had this unpleasant gritty mouthfeel I could never get past. Now days they seem to want to throw fruit and lactose into just about everything.

WE is less than two year's old and I feel like the cans are often not as good as draft, but they are making some solid beers and have had a few draft only offerings that have really hit it out of the park.

Boiler also couldn't shut up about their mead and how they didn't do crowler fills of it while I was there.

Suffice to say I won't be going back when we stop in Lincoln to visit my wife's grandma in the future. My brother in law also hated the beers so White Elm won't be hard to get people to go to.

Very cool. My father in law was excited to check out Jukes when they open, he grew up in Elkhorn and said they're in a historic spot for the town. Not sure when I'll be back, we made this summer trip so we didn't have to fly back for Thanksgiving and instead go to Japan for 10 days. Probably next Summer or Christmas 2019

I had a little taster of their mango sour at Krug Park, it was pretty solid. Inverted Citra was really nice.
