Is it normal for the number 8 to appear lighter in color? It's been in the primary for about 9 days. I took a sample reading and the beer looked a bit light. Not what I was expecting. I'm wondering if the beer will get darker once I start to condition the beer. I took a quick taste and boy does it taste like medicine. I'm guessing those are the fusel alcohols which should convert to esters during the aging process. Thoughts anyone? So far I'm enjoying the hobby. Only that waiting is the hard part.
