NASA to bomb the Moon

I'd think it was cool if it weren't for the fact that 30+ years ago we could send people to the moon and now all we can do is play loop de loop around the earth in the space shuttle.

The sad state of NASA, or more appropriately the sad state of the American public that has given up on space exploration really pisses me off. In the late 1950's and 1960's the space program touched off an education revolution in schools that went on for awhile, now we have "no child left behind". Looks like we are all going to be left behind, since we don't go anywhere else.

Sorry for the semi-rant here, but so much good has come from space exploration and we need to see how much more we can benefit from it.

It's not like we don't have plenty of money to spare... BOMBS AWAY!!

Amen, McKBrew! Well said. I remember when I was attending a one-room country schoolhouse in 1960, we were all still nervous that Sputnik had beat us. Where is the great push to accomplish anything now?

Yea, that's what we need! A good old fashioned nuclear standoff! That'll get our butts in gear!

Next thing you know there will be radiation in space.

We need to start a protest to prevent the introduction of radiation in space.

As far as space exploration it is the absolute most important human endeavor. It is only through space exploration that the human race stands any chance of survival. At some point human life will become unviable on this planet. Unless we have successfully colonized other star systems we will cease to exist, along with every accomplishment of the human species.

Granted, aliens are constantly stopping by and successfully taking human dna samples through the rectums of unsuspecting country rubes. But do you really want our species to be perpetuated from the inbred extra chromosonal clone of Bubba from Nipplesore, Arkansas?

Its really to wage war on the moon people who have been hiding on the dark side for centuries. Dont believe the exploration crap! We invaded Mars with the Mars landing years ago, then the moon people allied with them. This is gonna be WWIII or as the Moon People call it ....... Moon War I.

Nuh-uh. it's SSWI- Solar System War I.

And in doing so, we are gonna kill all the Amazon Women On The Moon. Bummer.

So this is it then....How long till the moon fallout comes back to earth and starts the zombiepocalypse? Three day or so? So by Monday we'll be knee deep in zombie bodies fighting our way to Walmart, or we'll be yelling "Braiiiiiiiiiiiiiiins."

Nice knowing y'all. let's try to keep in touch as long as the electricity and internet stays up. Remember he who brews the "magic barley water" gets the most nublile slaves. :D

Launch a Rod of God at it. It's a tungsten rod and liek Gila said. No Explosion is needed to make a large impact. They just had a thing on Discovery tow nights ago out space wars that walked about them.

Oh Noes, don't know a hole in the moon!!! Why should me try and learn about space I mean seriously, what have we actually gotten from space exploration?
Take out all our satellites and see how well our country fairs. Space exploration is necessary for progress and it's just plain awesome.
Apparently I was in retard mode when writing this and spelled every other word wrong.....

Hey Moon Huggers. It has no atmosphere.

Go out somewhere in the country and you will see like 20 shooting stars every night. That's 20 meteoroids burning up in our atmosphere! The moon's used to it!
Oh Noes!! Save the Stars and Meteoroids, they're getting hurt!! We need to initiate a government assisted program to catch the burnt our start relight them, and return them to space. We need to do this now or our children will have no stars to look at!

Sure it does. We got there first. We stuck our flag in it. I say we build a fence around it to keep the aliens out.

haha Yep, we claimed it it's ours. Works for me.

So basically you are saying they've been shooting at us a lot longer. So it's about time we started fighting back.

So typical of our gubment, never going after the real enemy right away, first Iraq when we shoulda been in afghanistan, now we find out that all along we should have been shooting the moon.

So I wonder if the Nobel committee will retract the Peace Prize from the prez, since he just declared war on the moonies?

:D

Chuck E. Cheese is reported to have donated millions to this project in hopes of having the first "Moon Pie". Oh wait a minute....... "Moon Pies" have been around a long time already. Guess Chuckie made a bad investment.

Salute! :mug:

I watched it live at work today, and of course there was at least 4-5 conspiracy theories about this mission already. LOL
The most popular one was the "We doing it now, because we never really landed on the Moon before, Apollo 11 was just a government coverup" LOL

From NASA TV:

I just have to tell you that that whole video is bogus. There's no way I will believe that that "room" was the control center. This was filmed in a room with table and chairs set up in 20 minutes. The phony handshakes of the two guys at the back table was a hilariously set up.

The graphics for the "module" landing were cartoons over pictures at best.

Moon landing real or not you guys can't be taking this crap seriously are you?

Ive always asked myself if Neil Armstrong was the first person on the moon and his first steps are off the latter, then how did the camera get there to film the vessal landing?

Did you also know that NASA accidently erased the landing film for another project? Only a news company had bits and pieces.

Here it is from a different angle, I think it's from the Hubble or something :D

Convinced now? ;)

The TV camera was stowed in an instrument pallet in the LM descent stage. When Armstrong was at the top of the ladder, he pulled a lanyard to swing open the pallet, which was hinged at the bottom. The TV camera, which was attached to it, also swung down. Buzz Aldrin then switched on the camera from the LM cabin. The camera was pointing at the ladder of the LM so that TV pictures of Armstrong's initial steps on the Moon could be relayed to the world. The camera was later removed from its mounting and placed on a tripod some 30 feet from the LM, where it was left unattended to cover the remainder of the moonwalk.

You believe a word of that?

I've seen the footage of the meeting between Nixon, Kissinger and Stanley kubrick where Nixon said this event needed to be filmed...last I knew Kubrick never went to the moon...

NASA != Military

Military != Authority to wage war

You are entitled to the rest of your opinion, but please don't misconstrue facts.

Add to that

What happened this morning != bombing

It was a used up space probe they crash landed. Though I like the idea of bombing the moon. It's the only way to rid our selves of the Nazis that are hiding up there after escaping Germany at the end of WWII.
