My OG was higher than the recipe..

My OG of my lageer was higher than the recipe I bought from Midwest. Not sure what I did wrong? I followed the instructions that came with the AG kit. Did I get a better efficiency?

Or an uncalibrated hydrometer...or measuring a denser layer of stratified wort...


Have you calibrated the hydrometer across a range of SG readings?
Was the wort well mixed prior to sampling?
