I don't want to dedicate room for a fridge in my house at this time. This stores with the fermenter in it so it doesn't take up much more room.
This has evolved a bit. Uses the 6.5 gallon Genesis fermenter. Next thing I'd like to replace is the plywood partition with a plastic cutting board type piece since the wood picked up some condensation from the bottom of the cooler and warped. No biggie. First few days of fermentation I swap out the ice jug once. Days 3-5, twice a day. Then once a day after this. Currently hold my fermentation at 62F for four days then let it come up to 67 to finish. Using a wall wart to power a low noise fan however for a few bucks more, I can wire in a 120V muffin fan off Amazon to simplify things. I put some foam down for the ice block side so less cool conducts over to the fermentation side.
