Reading alot of threads on here i was worried i would have to wait a few days for activity using the bry197. Checked it at midnight and it was slowly chugging away with a light head of krauson!

Been trying to keep it at about 60-64F

Nice, I recently just finished my first shot at a Black IPA. How do you like the Midnight wheat? I went with only carafa III but I think next time I will try midnight wheat as well and cut back on the carafa. I hit my numbers for OG (1.082) but it finished 3 points higher than I had intended (1.016 instead of 1.013) and 124 IBU. It's fantastic though and the best beer I've made on the first time building a new recipe. It did take long to carbonate in the keg though, which was weird.

Cheers!

Still cranking away in the fermentor right now. But from the recipe i created through the mash and primary phase the midnight seemed awesome. A little went a long way, from the tase and smell its not nearly roasty as chocolate malt cara 3 or roasted barley ive used before. Hopefully it will install the color without to much bitters. Using it in a stout next week just 3 ounces though!
