I am using a lot of pallet wood to support the bar and for the facing. The bar top is a 8ft section and 6ft section of bobinga wood from Africa I found out in PA at a wood mill. I will post more as the build finishes up.

any plans to incorporate that keezer into the build?

Not now I have to build out sink, cabinets and walls and decide if I want it located at the bar...for now I want the whole back area as a brewery set up

Looks great so far. I love the idea of repurposing the pallets.

Building a bar and brewery... anyone else feel like this is a grown up's version of playing house?

Looking good! There's a gardening place I pass on the way home from work that always puts their used pallets for free on the side of the road. I've been thinking about doing the same thing when I have home I'm going to be in for a while!
How'd you secure the bottom of the bar to the "wall" part of the bar in the first pic? Keep those pics coming!

You might have a bit of trouble with the foot rest area. Most cabinets/bars have a toe relief. I hate to be critical of a nice build, but the bottom section extending out to the bar top will cause a problem. It's the reason bars have the rail above the foot height.

Nice wood for the top, but it might look better turned over. Flitches usually work better with the live edge rolling out gradually from top to bottom, rather than having a sharp edge on the top. Just my opinion as a (professional) furniture maker.

Nice looking build. Heres what i did in my man cave. I like the foot rest. Ive been looking for a foot rail but no luck so i might do the step like that.

I inserted 2 x 4 through the bottom pallets so I had additional strength to place screws into the base. Once thew plywood was added the structure is solid as can be

Yes I am realizing this now. I wanted to do a natural slate or stone on top but now have been tinkering with different ideas.

The bar is great I am just waiting for some slate to finish the foot rest. The pallets made this bar stable and have applied this concept to some other builds in my house. These pictures are months old but will give you an idea of where it's at. So many other house projects this has been put on hold until I can install a sink and finish the back half of the bar.
