Muriatic Acid removes Stone painted labels

If you are going to buy something, CLR might be your best bet as it might be safer. Starsan has also been reported to be effective (sometimes).

But if you do your own pool maintenance, you probably have some jugs of muriatic acid around. I put some in a bucket and with a paint brush, and a scrubby, it almost instantly dissolves the the paint off of stone bottles.

Sadly, it had no effect on Rogue, Chouffe, and several others I had. Only stone.

Warning: acid is acidic :) and you need to be careful (keep a bucket of fresh water nearby so when **** happens, you are ready; or do it next to the pool).
 
Oh come now, HCl isn't that bad, if you're careful. Nitric Acid, now, that's much more dangerous (fun).

But you might be barking up the wrong tree - see this thread - the bottles might be using integrated glass labels.
