I live in Morgantown, WV and was curious if anyone around the area, even including like washington, pa or pittsburgh know of any good homebrew stores? I haven't really had any luck finding anything, although I know pittsburgh has some i'd like to find something closer. Anyone from around here?

If you are doing extract kits, there is a store on High Street called Slight Indulgence. I think they have hopped extract kits and maybe some specialty grains. They do have some really basic equipment (airlocks, stoppers, a few carboys, etc). You're better off just going to Pittsburgh or ordering from an online retailer (as I do) if you want better ingredients and gear.

On a side note I've heard that they will be lifting the cap on abv from 6% to 12% have you heard anything about this? I hope they do, then we can actually get some good beer in WV. I'm not sure when it is supposed to start

I can't believe I hadn't heard this earlier, but apparently the law went into effect July 9. I haven't seen anything different in the stores, but I guess I haven't been looking in the right place. It looks like Slight Indulgence has some trappist beers and IIPAs now

As far as stores around here there just isn't much selection. Web sites like Northern Brewer and Midwest Supplies have given me the best luck so far. If you need something at the last minute that you forgot Slight Indulgence is the place to go. There is also one in Star City.

I just picked up a Sam Adams Imperial White at Slight Indulgence yesterday. 11% ABV. Yummy.

I know this thread is super old but I figured I'd bump this rather than start a new thread.

I'm heading out to Morgantown this thursday and was wondering if anyone could point me to some specialty beer shops for micro's. Also, if anyone in the area is interested in purchasing some of michigans better beers, I can bring some along to sell/trade if you have anything special. I have a couple bottles of Founders 2010 KBS/Double trouble, Bells Hopslam/Kzoo Stout/Double cream stout/Oberon, Dark Horse Blueberry Stout/Double Crooked Tree IPA, and Shorts Sustenance/Irish Stout. Look em up and let me know if your interested.
