Hey everyone! So I was looking around on the Brooklyn Brew Shop recipes and saw they have a Mojito Ale with lime zest and mint added but i want to try to do it from scratch. I feel like a summer Ale might be the best starting block but I just wanna see what you guys had in mind in terms of a recipe base! I was gonna add lime zest to secondary and dry hop with mint leaves or maybe whirlpool? Any suggestions are much appreciated!

I would suggest not adding the lime & mint "dry", but make a tincture of vodka with each. That way you can trial the beer by pouring a small amount and dosing it with various amounts of the two tinctures. This will allow you to dial in the flavor you're looking for, while avoiding any detrimental effects of the dry materials (does mint have oils? that's my initial worry).

Check Brock's Homebrew from Melbourne Fl. I just brewed their Mojito Pale Ale (actually, it's a Kolsch) this weekend. They use Polaris Hops for the mint flavor and Motoueka (spelling?) for the Lime / Citrus flavors.
