MLT steel braid wont stay down

How do you get your steel braid in the MLT to stay down? I have a coiled SS wire going through for support, but it just wants to twist up

I haven't put mine together yet, but I purchased a large SS carriage bolt from lowes that will go in the end of the braid.

I added a brass plug to the end of mine to weight it down, works great

+1 on the brass plug. Your braid is floating even with all the grain on top?

+2 on the brass plug...We use it in our batch sparge system when we do smaller 10 gal batches..No floaty...
