MLT PVC Manifold question

I made a manifold last night and after I got it installed in my 48qt cooler it is sitting upwards of 1" off the bottom due to the fact that the drain plug appears to be higher than other coolers. Is this going to be a problem having the manifold be that high off the bottom of the cooler?

Double batch sparge. That should get all of the sugar out.

I had the same problem. Check out my solution in this thread

The flow of the liquid will act as a siphon, so no need to worry about the height of the hole in the cooler, as long as your manifold is sitting flat on the bottom.

When I tested mine with water, I only had about 8 oz left in the MLT after the siphon quit.

My manifold sits 1" off the bottom too--I fly sparge with 80% eff, so it can't be too big of a deal.

Did you use regular white pvc or the yellowish cpvc?
