So I got these 3 cans for Xmas
(have a northern brewer 2 glass carboy setup with chiller & 8 gallon Mega Pot 1.2)

all above cans of extract and hopps yield 2 gallons

Oktoberfest

American Light

Mexican Beer

Going to be using California Lager Yeast from Wyeast (as I am in WI and it's too cold for ale yeast)

I am temped to mix Oktoberfest

with one of the above

any suggestions or ideas? or is this just a bad idea

the picture u tried to link failed as your doing it from your computer, u would have to attach it your post :)

have u tried any of the other 2?
i often find mixing 2 different cans can result in a confused beer, saying that i just mixed a pale ale and lager can together and it seems to be working great..

u would want something as subtle as possible, so to not get a over complicated/confused hop taste

Thinking the American Light and the Octoberfest might work

hahaha that was strange..

i know mexican can are usually mellow, when u think about sol/corona... id say u may be safe with either

You said you have 2 carboys, why mix them. Just do two, 2 gallon batches, one it each carboy so the beer comes out as Mr. Beer intended. When one of them comes out of the carboy, do the third or even better, get a small food safe bucket with a lid and do all 3. I got a 5 gallon bucket from Walmart with a lid, drilled a very small hole in the lid to let CO2 escape and have another fermenter for under $5.

Use 3 gallon food grade buckets if you might stick with this size kit for awhile. I picked up a few at the grocery store for $0.50. They had contained frosting for use in the bakery. The frosting aroma does not stay in the plastic.

As I prefer the taste of Ambers and IPA's or Weiss
These were an Xmas present from a non beer drinker
So the Octoberfest is the closest to my taste

I am not a fan of Light beers (piss H20 ;) )
Trying to avoid making something I will not drink LOL

So anyone have a comment on what I would end up with using a Lager Yeast? (CA Wyeast) to be exact
Or what would be the better blend?

1. Oct + Mex
vs
2. Oct + Light

Or should I just EBAY them? and Punt? (I do have a Irish Amber that came with the Northen Brewer Kit )
AKA buy another Extract with the proceeds
