Hi everyone,
I normally bottle my beer but lately I've been thinking about buying a minikeg (4-5L) to keep in the fridge.
Based on the dimensions of the refrigerator, leaving the minikeg standing upright is not an option and from what I have seen, many minikegs say that they can be left on their side and can be used that way. My issue is that I've been searching and I can't find any comments about whether this really works, whether there are associated problems and what I can or can't do.

I was thinking about using a set something like this:

Minikeg
ball lock
faucet
CO2

I would really appreciate any kind of help (I'm a newbie so I have a lot to learn).
PS: I know that a bigger piece of equipment would probably work better and cost the same price, but my idea is to just have a mini fridge to go and get a glass of beer from time to time. And by the way, I have never used any type of barrel so my experience in this matter is zero. 😅

Thank you all!

I don't know about laying that on it's side, but I think that at minimum you would also need a (floating) dip tube to make it work.

If they are available in Portugal, you should consider Kegland's Oxebar PET minikegs and either a Picnic Tap 2.1 or a Nukatap mini with a flow control QD. The Oxebars definitely can be used on their sides (although it can be tricky to get the pickup positioned correctly), but the 4 L version may very well work in the upright position depending on your fridge.

It doesn't appear in the photo, but generally the ball lock comes with a tube heavier than beer. Maybe the one I posted here doesn't have it, but there are several that bring

I think the logic is more or less the same as the one you put here but in stainless steel, I think...

How much height do you have? The cheap chinese mini-kegs top out at about 10 & 3/4" and fit in my fridge;

here's an example;

I have about 17cm between the shelves, it's a very small space but if possible I wouldn't want to remove shelves so as not to "steal" storage space, in addition to the fact that my objective is a small volume

If buying a seperate mini-fridge just for beer isn't an option, the oxbar kegs @mac_1103 linked to are probably your best bet....Are you able to modify the racks to keep in the door maybe?

Se comprar um frigobar separado apenas para cerveja não for uma opção, os barris de oxbar @mac_1103 vinculados são provavelmente sua melhor aposta....Você é capaz de modificar as prateleiras para manter na porta talvez?
I can probably do it, I'll look at it more closely over the weekend. Thank you for your help!
