I am using a mini fridge to age my better beers. It uses wire shelves that are flimsy. Twice now I have overloaded the shelf and had beer come crashing down when I open the door (luckily they were my least prized beers that busted). Has anyone replaced their wire shelving in their mini fridge? If so, with what? There is plenty more capacity, but the shelves just won't hold the weight.

I changed mine to the Rubbermade Tightmesh brand of shelving.
Bought a pack of the little tips to cover the ends where I cut it.

The shelf easily holds a fermenter with 5.5-6 gal of wort.

Instead of replacing the shelves, you could reinforce them. I wonder if several small diameter steel rods (1/4 maybe? I've seen em in the metal section at HD) could be zip-tied in place to provide extra strength? Just cut to length with a hacksaw and secure with the zip ties, I would think that would be plenty strong enough.
