I am brewing this extract kit tomorrow. Do I need to be aware of anything special with the lactose as in lower/higher temps etc? Does it change fermentation time? I've never had a Mackesons before, but the idea of a sweet stout after a big beefy meal sounds really good:ban:

Malty and creamy from roasted grains and lactose. One of our favorite recipes. Similar to Mackesons XXX Milk Stout. Kits include malt syrup and/or dry malt, steeping grains, steeping sock, pellet hops, dry yeast, priming sugar irish moss and instructions. They require a 35-45 minute boil. If you desire to use liquid yeast we recommend Wyeast # 1084

Only thing I can think of is that lactose doesn't ferment, so it'll stay put after fermentation is done, meaning you'll have a higher-than-usual FG. Cheers!
