In anticipation to an upcoming trip to Beirut in June of next year, I of course had to see how the alcohol laws are out there. Since Beirut is very liberal and likes to have itself considered as a forward nation (let's not make this a Hezbollah discussion now), it has some great alcohol laws. It also has two major breweries Almaza and 961 Beer. Since Almaza is owned by Heineken, I really have no urge to visit them, but 961 Beer has caught my eye. Has anyone heard of this beer, tasted it, been there? Just like to get somemore info since their website is still getting developed and I can't get my hands on it here. Not had the beer, but Lebanon produces some excellent wine. Chateau Musar is well-worth looking our for.

I have a couple of bottles of wine from Lebanon, not sure which ones they are, but they are fantastic.
