Metalic taste

So my friend recently brewed a Belgian whit beer and the beers in the 24 oz bombers tasted great. But the beers in the 12 oz bottles had a metallic taste. Is that cause the beer possibly laid against the cap in conditioning or a lack of sanitation when cleaning the bottles that produced an infection? Will it go away with time? Just curious. Best way I can describe it is like putting a d battery on ur tongue. Obviously it's not shocking me but ya know. It's just a slight hint of it but we want to make sure that doesn't happen next time. We still drank the **** out of the beer.
